This is the perfect way to start your day.

Wake up, cut yourself a beautiful fat slice of this plum tart, grab a large cup of coffee, and sink into your most comfortable Sunday chair. Even though it is not even Sunday ;)

Bakes: 1 large Plum Tart

Takes: 1 - 1 1/2 hours

Difficulty: 1 out of 5

Prep:

Butter a large tart pan well.

If you have one that has a removable bottom, this will make everything a lot easier at the end, but it is not required.

And preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C)

Ingredients:

- Cake

120 grams unsalted butter - room temperature 60 grams sugar

150 grams all purpose flour

1 package vanilla pudding

1 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1 shot rum (optional, but highly recommended)

- Filling

About 25 plums - halved

- Topping

100 grams all purpose flour

75 grams unsalted butter - cold

50 grams sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

- Step 1 - Cream Butter

In a large bowl, cream the 120 grams of butter until smooth - about 2 minutes.

- Step 2 - Add Sugar

Add the 60 grams of sugar and mix until smooth.

- Step 3 - Add the Egg and Rum and Mix Once Again

Add the one egg and the 1 shot of Rum and mix until just combined.

It will look very wet - that is okay.

Just have faith in the cake.

- Step 4 - Add the Dry Ingredients

Then slowly add the dry ingredients in three batches.

With each addition, mix until just combined.

After adding all the dry ingredients, the batter will look like the picture below.

- Step 5 - Fill the Tart Pan

Once mixed, spoon the batter into the prepared tart pan and smooth it out until the batters reaches up the side of the tart pan slightly and is evenly spread out.

The batter will be very sticky, this is normal.

- Step 6 - Add the Plums

Half the plums and lay them onto the better in whatever pattern you like.

In addition, you can add more plums or take away plums. It just depends on how plum-y you would like this tart.

Set aside for now.

- Step 7 - Make the Topping

In a large bowl, combine 100 grams of all purpose flour, 75 grams of cold unsalted butter, 50 grams of sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Using your hands, rub the ingredients together until it is crumbly.

Once all mixed together and crumbly, sprinkle it over the plums until you are satisfied.

- Step 8 - Bake!

Bake for 30-40 minutes in preheated oven or until the top is golden brown.

- Step 9 - Let Cool Slightly and Enjoy!

Let the tart cool and once cooled, slide the tart out of the shell and enjoy.
