This recipe for Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies is so easy and perfect for kids. I added M&M's in mine, but you are not required to. But these cookies are so soft and so tasty. Probably the best chocolate chip and easiest chocolate chip cookie I have made.

Makes About: 36 cookies

Takes About: 30 minutes (to bake one batch)

Difficulty: 1 out of 5 (perfect for kids)

Prep:

Lay a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Ingredients:

3 cups (450 grams) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup (223 grams) unsalted butter

1/2 cup (110 grams) granulated sugar

1/2 cup (115 grams) brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups (200 grams) chocolate chips

1 cup (120 grams) M&M's

Instructions:

Step 1 - Sift Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl sift together the 3 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt - set aside until needed

Step 2 - Cream Butter

Cream the 1 cup of butter until smooth - about 3-4 minutes with an electric mixer.

Once the butter has been creamed, add the 1/2 cup granulated sugar and the 1/2 cup brown sugar to the butter and mix until creamy and fluffy - about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3 - Add the Eggs and Vanilla

Add the 2 eggs into the butter and sugar mixture and also the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and mix until everything is well combined and smooth. Step 4 - Combine Dry Ingredients and Wet Ingredients

Dump the dry ingredients into the bowl with the wet ingredients and using a spatula, fold everything together until the flour is almost completely mixed in.

Before you mix the flour completely in, add as many chocolate chips (and M&M's if you like) and continue mixing until the chocolate is well dispersed.

Step 5 - Form Balls

When you chocolate has been well dispersed, start forming the dough into 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoon sized balls and place them about 2 inches (about 6cm) apart on the baking sheet.

Step 6 - Bake!

Pop the cookies into the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the top turn slightly brown.

Step 7 - Cool and Enjoy! Once the cookies have baked, take them out of the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes before removing them from the baking sheet. Once cooled slightly, remove them from the baking sheet and repeat steps 6 and 7 until you have used all the cookie dough. Then, Enjoy!
